Natural habitats
Widely distributed in nature are normal inhabitants of the gut.
Clinical significance
Is most frequently considered a health care-associated pathogen, primarily causing urinary tract infections, though wound infections and bacteremias are also commonly encountered.
Respiratory infections are rare.
Gram negative straight rods,

Can vary in length, from coccoid rods to long wire forms
Facultative anaerobic
BA: large, gray, ß-hemolytic and moist colonies
Morganella morganii, swarms only in culture media with a small amount of agar.
