  This bacterium is isolated from blood, peritoneal fluid, pleura fluids, and lung biopsy from pulmonary infections.

- Gram positive rods,
  
  0.6-1.6 x 1.7-16 µm,
  
  occur single, in pairs or short chains.
  
  Spores oval / central or subterminal
  Swelling of the cell positive
Culture characteristics
- Obligate anaerobic
  
  BBAØ: colonies are 1-4 mm, β-hemolytic, circular to irregular, raised to convex, translucent, gray, shiny or dull, with a mosaic or granular structure and an entire, scalloped or undulate edge.
