Various strains isolated in blood, abscesses or wounds
Small, very short Gram positive (coccoid) rods,
with coryneform appearance
Facultative anaerobic
CO2 stimulates growth
BA: colonies are whitish, convex of a creamy or sticky consistency, and 1-1.5 mm after 48h.
They are sometimes mistaken for CNS
McConkey: no growth
